This year, for RS Components’ “Making Amazing Happen” Awards, TMB Events proposed an all new virtual event. After a tight pitching process we were delighted to host the event in our Live Studio here at PSP.

Whilst TMB looked after the logistics and client relationship, Grant Robinson of Mode13 produced the content of the event, whilst PSP managed the technical production, event platform and streaming.

The event consisted of 10 awards which recognised the internal team’s efforts and accomplishments throughout the last 12 months. Each award category had 3-4 finalists all brought in via vMix call to interact with the host in the studio. Every award winner got their time to shine as they were all able to give a live acceptance speech to their audience of peers and colleagues.

In the live studio we had 9 hosts from RS Components national offices, each to present one of the awards, as well as business updates from a few of the Senior Leadership Team.

The whole event ran with a 90’s rave theme throughout, with presenters, nominees and the audience all dressing the part. TMB events organised individual themed hampers which were delivered to the houses of all 400 registered guests for the event, to get them in the spirit for the show.

The awards were hosted on PSP’s own event platform, Virtual Event Hosts, where RS made use of the emoji reactions and chat functions throughout the event. We also hosted pages with speaker bios, awards and nominees, judges, sponsors, and even a 90’s rave themed virtual photo booth which ran throughout the event, finishing with a logo mosaic of all the guest’s photos from the event.

Analytics from the event showed that the audience were truly engaged with over 350 chat messages and nearly 5000 emoji reactions over the 2 hour show.

After over a year out of live projects due to the ongoing pandemic, it was great to be back working with the fantastic teams at TMB events, Mode13 and RS Components.

I just wanted to say a quick thank you for helping us deliver our first virtual event. I know I can speak on behalf of the three of us when I say we really couldn’t have done it without you.

After such a long time it was refreshing to learn something new and deliver a fantastic event that the client was really happy with…even if the theme was a bit off the scale!
